My Father's Eyes is the second studio album by a then-teenage Christian singer - songwriter Amy Grant, released in 1979 on Myrrh/Word Records. My Father's Eyes was a turning point in Grant's career. It gave Grant her first Christian hit in the title track, as well as the follow-up single "Faith Walkin' People." Starting with this album and its subsequent releases, Grant would collaborate with Brown Bannister as her producer throughout the 1980s. Grant and Bannister both wrote and recorded a duet on the song "There Will Never Be Another."
The album was certified gold in 1987 by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and in 1980 was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Gospel Performance, Contemporary. That same year, Grant was nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year at the 11th GMA Dove Awards. Songwriter and future first husband Gary Chapman was nominated for the top prize of Song of the Year for "Father's Eyes" in 1981. My Father's Eyes appeared on the Billboard Top Inspirational Albums chart (later renamed Top Christian Albums) in 1980 and gave Grant her first number one album.
