Amy Grant (1977)

Updated: Mar 22

Amy Grant is the debut studio album by a then-teenage Christian singer Amy Grant, released in 1977 on Myrrh/Word Records. The album cover on the left is the original 1977 rare cover when it was first released. The album cover on the right is the re-issue cover that is well known and used presently. Produced by Chris Christian. Grant wrote six of the album's 13 tracks by herself and co-wrote the track "On and On" with her future producer Brown Bannister. "What a Difference You've Made" would later be covered by country pop singer Ronnie Milsap in late 1977 as "What a Difference You've Made in My Life" and topped the Country chart in early 1978.

In 1980, Amy Grant, along with My Father's Eyes and Never Alone, first appeared on Billboard's Top Inspirational Albums chart (later renamed Top Christian Albums) and by 1981, the album peaked at number 6.
